Embraer 195 lands at AAI Kolhapur:
Kolhapur Airport has come a long way with minor and major developments. Progressive but at times slow.
However, in the last 18 months, the airport has successfully completed the land acquisition part, expansion of the runway, and night landing facilities to name a few. All these years, Kolhapur Airport has seen small aircraft come and go. With the runway length at 1930mts and night landing permission granted, the possibility of landing bigger Aircraft at Kolhapur was a dream come true.
These all are due to the efforts of Shri. Satej Patil, Shri Kamal Kataria (ex Airport Director, AAI Kolhapur), and their team members. Kolhapur people are now awaiting bigger aircraft. With connectivity routes still fluctuating, some steady routes and sectors are keeping Kolhapur Airport busy.

Today was a Sensational and Historic moment for Kolhapur Airport. The largest aircraft ever, Embraer 195 landed in Kolhapur, and thus began the era of bigger aircraft like the A320s or the B737 soon to land at the Kolhapur Airport.
Embraer team with their most sought-after aircraft called Profit Hunter an Embraer 195 / E-195-E2 landed at Kolhapur airport around 3.20 PM – a unique aircraft with a very special livery. Exceptional interiors with 2×2 sear format, capacity up to 146 passengers, and a range of 4,500kms.
With the demand and routes increasing, the purpose of inducting a larger aircraft to cater to this from Kolhapur Airport has come at the right time.
With the prospective buyers impressed and already planning to induce a few of these aircraft in their existing fleet, it’s likely to see more of the Embraer 1905 (E-195s) at Kolhapur, Belagavi, and Other Indian Airports.
