KSRTC Free Bus Pass for Students & Working Women
Belagavi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the plan to provide KSRTC free bus pass for students and working women will be implemented from the month of April.
This scheme was announced in the budget and has been eagerly awaited by the public. The initiative is a significant step towards empowering women and making education more accessible to students.
Speaking at the launch of KSRTC’s new Volvo Multi-axle 9600 sleeper bus, ‘Ambari Utsav’, in front of Vidhan Soudha, Chief Minister Bommai said that officials from the transport organization have been instructed to provide free bus passes to all school students and working women immediately. The initiative is aimed at providing a hassle-free and affordable mode of transport to women and students who depend on public transport for their daily commute.

He further said A KSRTC Free bus pass scheme has been implemented for school girls. Govt will Arrange for minibusses to go to schools. At least 5 to 6 buses should run in every taluka. Bus service should be started for school children after school starts in the next academic year, instructed Bommai to KSRTC & Transport Department.
Karnataka Road Transport Corporation’s new Volvo 9600 Ambari Utsav sleeper bus was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bommai in front of the Legislative Assembly. Minister R. Ashok, Corporation President Chandrappa, and officials were present.
It is speculated that a Few Routes of Ambari Utsav will have Termination/Originating points at Belagavi. Let’s wait and see if Belagavi can witness Ambari Utsav on her roads as there are no official announcements yet.
The KSRTC free bus pass scheme for students and working women is a welcome move, especially during these challenging times when many people have been adversely affected by the pandemic. The initiative will not only reduce the financial burden on students and working women but will also encourage more people to use public transport, which is a more environmentally friendly option.
