ESIC Hospital sanctioned for Belagavi in 190th ESIC Meeting at Chandigarh
ESIC Hospital: Belagavi, Karnataka, has been in the news recently for its contribution to the Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) fund. This small district has a staggering 1,20,000 people covered under the ESIC, mostly comprising industrial workers from the MSME sector. This sector contributes a significant amount to the ESIC fund on a monthly basis, making it a critical legal provision to protect the rights of workers to receive proper healthcare.
The Belgaum District Small Scale Industries Association (BDSSIA), the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce & Industries (BCCI), and the Belagavi Core Development Group (BCD) have been tirelessly working towards getting an ESIC hospital in Belagavi. The BCD team, led by Amruth Gasti, went further and met Rajya Sabha MP Shri Irranna Kadadi to convince him to sanction an ESIC hospital in Belagavi.

We would like to thank Shri Iranna Kadadi for his constant follow-up with Labor & Employment ministry for materializing ESIC at Belagavi.
Now Their efforts have paid off, as the 190th Meeting of ESI Corporation, held in Chandigarh, decided to set up new ESIC hospitals in various locations across India, including Belagavi and Shamshabad (Telangana), Baramati (Maharashtra), Kishangarh, Ajmer (Rajasthan), Balasore (Odisha), Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh) and Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh). The decision was made to strengthen social security for India’s Shram Jeevis, furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. The Union Minister for Labor & Employment, Bhupendra Yadav, conducted the meeting.
The news of an ESIC hospital coming to Belagavi has been received with much appreciation by the locals. The establishment of the hospital will provide better healthcare facilities for workers and their families, ensuring they receive timely and adequate medical treatment during illnesses and accidents.
The efforts of the BCD team, led by Amruth Gasti, are highly commendable. Mr. Gasti has been the brain behind the #AIIMS4Belagavi campaign, which aims to get an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital established in Belagavi. Mr. Gasti’s efforts have been tireless and instrumental in getting an ESIC hospital in Belagavi.
The BCCI Chairman, Rohan Juvali, also deserves a special mention for his support of this cause. The BCCI has been actively involved in the campaign for an ESIC hospital in Belagavi and has been a significant contributor to its success.

Establishing an ESIC hospital in Belagavi is a significant step towards improving the healthcare facilities in the region. The efforts of Amruth Gasti and the BCD team have brought hope to the locals, who are now looking forward to better healthcare facilities in their city.
The establishment of an ESIC hospital in Belagavi was not only a long-awaited development but also a necessary one. Previously, employees had to travel to Kalaburagi/Gulbarga, which was the nearest ESIC hospital. This was not only inconvenient but also added to the already existing stress of dealing with medical emergencies. With the establishment of an ESIC hospital in Belagavi, employees will have access to timely and adequate medical treatment, reducing their stress and discomfort during illnesses and accidents. The hospital will also be more accessible to the people of Belagavi, making it easier for them to seek medical care. This development is a significant milestone toward providing better healthcare facilities to the people of Belagavi.
The Belagavi Core Development (BCD) group under the dynamic leadership of Amruth Gasti has achieved another significant milestone by getting the KIDWAI Memorial Institute of Oncology to set up a 100-bed hospital in Belagavi. Belagavi has the second-highest number of cancer cases in Karnataka after Bengaluru, making it imperative to have a specialized center for cancer care in the city. The BCD group, along with its members, worked relentlessly towards achieving this goal, using various platforms, including social media and excessive Twitter Campaigns, to garner support and draw attention to the need for a cancer care center in Belagavi. This new development will make cancer care more accessible and affordable to people living in North Karnataka, who previously had to travel to Bengaluru for treatment.
The efforts of the BCD group have made significant contributions to the overall development of Belagavi. With their relentless efforts and dedication, the BCD group has achieved what was thought impossible, and their continued efforts have brought many significant developments to Belagavi. In addition to the ESIC hospital and KIDWAI cancer center, the BCD group has been instrumental in bringing other important developments to Belagavi, such as the airport expansion project, Railway Projects & Trains, and the proposed AIIMS hospital (No Location Yet Finalised in Karnataka for AIIMS Karnataka). The BCD group’s tireless efforts and dedication have been appreciated by people across the city and have served as an inspiration for others to come together and work toward the betterment of their community.
The success of this campaign should inspire other regions across India to come together and fight for their rights. The establishment of an ESIC hospital in Belagavi is proof that collective efforts can bring about significant change in society. It is a victory for the people of Belagavi and a step forward toward better healthcare facilities for all.
