Strengthening Connectivity: Union MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari’s Visit Marks Milestone for Karnataka’s Infrastructure
In a significant development aimed at bolstering infrastructure and connectivity in Karnataka, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways (Union MoRTH Minister), Nitin Gadkari, is scheduled to visit Belagavi on February 22, 2024. The visit comes as part of the inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremony for multiple road projects in the region, with a cumulative investment of ₹6,975 crores.
The event, slated to commence at 12 pm at the District Stadium, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi city, holds immense promise for the residents of North Karnataka. Iranna Kadadi, the esteemed Rajya Sabha member representing Belagavi, announced the much-anticipated visit on Tuesday, underscoring the transformative impact these infrastructure endeavors will have on the region.
Union MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari is set to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a diverse array of road projects spanning a total distance of 376 kilometers across North Karnataka. Among the notable projects earmarked for inauguration is the Four or Six-lane Belagavi ring road, stretching over 34.48 kilometers and valued at ₹1622.02 crores. Additionally, the construction of the 4-lane stretch from Chikkodi Bypass to Gotur on NH 548B, covering 27 kilometers and worth ₹941 crores, will be unveiled during the ceremony.
The visit underscores the commitment of the central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, towards enhancing infrastructure and fostering economic growth in Karnataka. Union MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari is slated to travel from Delhi to Belagavi via a special flight to preside over the foundation stone-laying ceremony. Following this momentous occasion, he will embark on another special flight to Shivamogga, where he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for additional highway projects in the southern region, further exemplifying the government’s concerted efforts towards comprehensive infrastructural development across the state.
