Underground Dustbin in India one of the first installed in Belagavi

India’s first underground dustbin with sensors has been installed at Goaves, Belagavi. This system will be installed in all 25 wards of MLA Abhay Patil’s constituency. As of today, these are currently being installed in 18 wards.

We urge the residents to utilize this garbage disposal system to help keep our environment clean. It is a much cleaner and more efficient way to dispose of waste. With the sensors, the bin will be able to detect when it is full and will automatically send a message to the Municipal Corporation to come and empty it.
This is a great step forward in keeping our constituency clean.

Belagavi has erected 18 subterranean garbage bins to handle its waste, in contrast to many other major metropolises that still struggle with challenges like overflowing public dump yards, exhausted landfills, and bad air.

The trash cans are situated on sidewalks. 

They each have two inlets or apertures. One is for household waste disposal, and the other is for municipal carts that transport collected waste.
Cranes are used to hoist these enormous metal bins, which mechanically dump the whole trash stream without any input from actual people.
