
South Western Railway Conducts 22nd ZRUCC Meet
South Western Railway:
Today at Hubballi the 22nd meeting of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee on South Western Railway was held. Shri Sanjeev Kishore, the General Manager of South Western Railway, presided over the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to better represent railway customers and to facilitate communication between the railway administration and users on issues pertaining to the services offered by the railways. Issues and worries relating to passenger comforts, train service, and infrastructure development were thoroughly reviewed in today’s discussion.

All of the members were welcomed by the General Manager of South Western Railway Shri Sanjeev Kishore, who also noted that South Western Railway has excelled on a number of fronts. He emphasized a number of accomplishments, including the rebuilding of various stations, including Belagavi, Hosapete, and Davangere, as well as the launch of the inaugural Vande Bharat Express of South India between Mysuru and MGR Chennai Central by the honorable Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi. According to him, station development is also being done in Yesvantpur and Bengaluru Cantonment. With punctuality of 94.10%, South Western Railways is the fourth most punctual zone in the nation.

He noted that during festival and holiday seasons, 83 special trains ran and 1798 more coaches were added for the convenience of the customers. He went into additional detail about infrastructure development initiatives and emphasised that SWR is taking every possible step to double, electrify, and add new lines. He stated that 52% of the SWR network has already been electrified.
Members also received a briefing on a variety of topics pertaining to passenger amenities, infrastructure development, and train services such as more stops, increased train frequency, and ROBS/RUBS construction. They praised the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, for launching the inaugural Vande Bharat Express Service in South India.
