On-ground Report of Shedbal Railway Station Infrastructural Works
Shedbal Railway Station, a small town in Karnataka, is currently undergoing a major transformation as the Indian Railways Network is working to double the tracks and remodel the railway station yard. The project, which is taking place on the Londa-Belagavi-Miraj section of the Bengaluru – Pune Mainline, is expected to improve the efficiency and capacity of the rail system in the area.

Shedbal Railway Station Outer Doubling Updates
The doubling works are progressing at a satisfactory pace, with ballast already laid for the second track and land being leveled for the new infrastructure. Concrete sleepers are being delivered every two hours to support the new track, and an excavator is continuously digging the soil to level the area.
The project, which was initiated by the late Minister of State Railways, Shri Suresh Angadi, aims to create a stable line and a shunting yard at Shedbal Railway Station on the Londa-Belagavi-Miraj section of the Bengaluru – Pune Mainline of Indian Railways Network. This would help to improve the efficiency and reliability of the railway system in the region, making it easier for passengers and freight trains to travel to and from Shedbal.
The doubling of the railway lines at Shedbal is a major undertaking, with the construction of new tracks, platforms, and other infrastructure. The project is being carried out in phases, with the first phase focusing on constructing the stable line and the new second track. The stable line will be used to park and maintain trains, while the shunting yard will be used to move trains in and out of the station.

Shedbal station is one of the last stations of the South Western Railways Jurisdiction and is one of the most essential maintenance stations in this section of the Indian Railways Network. The remodeling of the railway station yard will include new facilities for passengers, such as waiting rooms and restrooms, as well as improvements to the tracks and platforms.

Despite the ongoing construction, the railway station continues to be operational. However, there are no signs of Electrification yet, but it is expected that it will be done in the near future.
