Belagavi, Karnataka: The Durdundeshwar Siddha Sansthan Mutt at Nidasoshi in Hukkeri taluk of Belagavi has been a revered Hindu religious center for centuries. Today, the Nidasoshi mutt is making headlines as it welcomes its new successor seer, Ekwagyanand Swamiji.
Traditionally, the successor seer of the mutt would be appointed after the demise of the incumbent seer. However, the current seer, Pancham Shivalingeshwar Swamiji, broke from tradition and named Ekwagyanand Swamiji as his successor while still alive.
Speaking at the event, Pancham Shivalingeshwar Swamiji said, “Ekwagyanand Swamiji has shown tremendous dedication and commitment to learning all the practices and rituals of the Nidasoshi mutt. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including KLE Society Chairman Prabhakar Kore, MLC Prakash Hukkeri, former MLC Mahantesh Kavatgi math, and former minister AB Patil.
