During the 15th Karnataka Assembly’s Friday session, MLA Abhay Patil (Belagavi South) urged the government to concentrate on bringing more companies to the Belagavi district and creating job opportunities for the area’s youth and graduates.

MLA Abhay Patil’s Question today for IT & Industry:
The Beyond Bengaluru initiative has been announced by the Karnataka government, but it is sad that benefits only extend up to Hubballi-Dharwad and no further. Therefore, I implore the Karnataka government to launch “Beyond Hubballi” in North Karnataka so that Belagavi might acquire certain industries. Said MLA Abhay Patil on Friday.
He further mentioned that Belagavi district MLAs and MPs, as well as representatives from the Belagavi Chamber of Commerce and other business organizations, had met with CM Basavaraj Bommai to demand that the required steps be taken to improve and develop the Belagavi District. It’s to be noted Belagavi CORE Development Group too had submitted Memorandum for IT and Industries in Belagavi to CM via Abhay Patil.
The local industrial bodies and Groups are angry with the state government for its paternalistic treatment of Belagavi, and they have announced that Maharashtra is encouraging Belagavi industrialists to invest there. They have promised a tax credit and reduced land prices. Additionally, the Goa government attracted business owners from Belagavi, offering them single-window clearance and other advantages. Therefore, I want the CM to develop a unique industrial policy for the border district of Belagavi and to build infrastructure to attract the automobile sector.
MLA Anil Benake’s reply on space availability for IT Park in Belagavi:
MLA Anil Benake said in reply to Abhay Patil’s Query that there is ample space of land available at Belagavi. Even the Administration is in contact with the Ministry of Defence for the land to be acquired for IT Park.
He said, One of the great feats of Belagavi is that it has the highest number of Engineering Graduates and Colleges in Karnataka State still Graduates & youths of Belagavi have to go either Pune or Bengaluru for Jobs.
This IT park is in need of an hour for Job Creation in the Belagavi District.

Murugesh Nirani’s Reply on investments being done in Belagavi:
Murugesh Nirani said in reply to MLA Abhay Patil’s question Karnataka Government is working on investments and projects apart from Belagavi.
He said, Tier Two cities Like Belagavi, Hubli, and Kalaburgi were focused on industries and other investments. He said BELAGAVI will be made Automobile Hub.
He was interrupted by Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, The Speaker asking why are you not setting up anything in Belagavi. Do you need any special clause for installing industries in Belagavi which is a Border District?
