The Londa Miraj Railway line section and Hubballi-Chikjajur are expected to double in size by February and March of the current year (2023), respectively. As a result, the entire railway section between Miraj and Bengaluru would have two lines.

Belagavi Vande Bharat Status:
The proposed Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express can be extended up to Belagavi, according to the general manager, as the doubling and electrification of the length up to Belagavi of the Londa Miraj Railway line will also be finished shortly.

The Bagalkot-Kudachi new line project’s segment from Khajjidoni to Lokapur (9 km) is currently under construction. The Lokapur-Yadavad segment has already been subject to a second EPC tender. The Tumakuru-Davangere project has already started its first phase, which covers 20 kilometers.
Ground Updates for Belagavi Miraj Section:
Londa to Belagavi has far more significant work cum progress as compared to the Belagavi Miraj section of the Londa Miraj Railway Line.
Looking at the Krishna River Bridge work it looks like it will take another year March 2024. As progress on the bridge is far from slow. All station’s Non-Interlocking Works, Platform works, and Station building works are pending, and Track bed work particularly between Shedbal-Vijaynagar-Miraj still pending. How SWR will complete before Londa Miraj Railway Line on March 2023 is a million-dollar question, and it may drag to March 2024. (Belagavi to Miraj Section only).
According to the general manager, based on passenger demand in 2021, 252 special trains had been conducted, 244 coaches had been permanently augmented, and 221 coaches had been temporarily increased during holidays and festivals.
He stated that in order to make it easier for people attending the 86th Akhil Bharatiya Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, special trains are being run between Bengaluru and Hubballi with a halt at Haveri. For the same, Haveri has added additional stoppages for seven long-distance express trains.
The speed capability of the lines was increased to 110 kmph including the Londa Miraj Railway line along an 808 km stretch in 2021, and 91 trains were accelerated. The parcel revenue in 2022 was 106.4 crores, an 18% increase over 2021.
