North Karnataka and Belagavi to Cast Votes in Phase 3 on May 7th, 2024 in Lok Sabha 2024 Election
In a landmark announcement, the Election Commission of India has unveiled the schedule for the much-anticipated Lok Sabha 2024 elections. With an estimated 97 crore eligible voters, 1.5 crore polling officials, and an astounding 10.5 lakh polling stations, India braces itself for what is deemed the world’s largest electoral movement of both manpower and resources.
The election process is slated to unfold in seven phases, commencing on April 19 and culminating on June 1. The phase-wise breakdown is as follows: Phase 1: April 19, Phase 2: April 26, Phase 3: May 7, Phase 4: May 13, Phase 5: May 20, Phase 6: May 25, and Phase 7: June 1. Notably, the much-awaited exit polls are scheduled to take place on June 1, paving the way for the ultimate decider – Counting Day – set for June 4.
One significant aspect of the electoral process is the inclusion of North Karnataka and Belagavi in Phase 3, slated for May 7th, 2024 in Lok Sabha 2024 Election. This strategic decision aims to ensure comprehensive voter participation across all regions of the country.
The Election Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the gold standard in electoral exercises. With a track record encompassing the successful conduct of 17 General Elections, 400+ State Elections, and 16 Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections, the Commission stands as a beacon of trust for the Indian populace.
The mammoth undertaking of organizing the elections involves the deployment of over 55 lakh Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) across the nation. These machines play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and transparent electoral process.
To guarantee the integrity of the electoral process, the Election Commission is deploying over 2100 General, Police, and Expenditure Observers. These observers serve as the vigilant guardians, overseeing the conduct of inducement and intimidation-free elections, thereby ensuring a level playing field for all candidates.
