Belagavi Dharwad new Railway Line work & land acquisition was reviewed in Bengaluru.
In order to expeditiously carry out ongoing rail projects in the state, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Union Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnav decided to form a committee made up of senior Railways and Karnataka Government officials.
Bommai and Vaishnav looked at nine proposals for new railway lines that have been accepted on a 50:50 basis with the Government of India. They decided to form a committee made up of top railway and state government officials in order to guarantee the prompt completion of all rail projects with improved coordination and within the allotted time.
9 new rail line projects have been taken up in the state on a 50:50 cost-sharing basis with the central government and the progress of these projects was reviewed by Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. On this occasion, he informed that a team of officials will be formed with the aim of achieving better coordination and eliminating complications quickly to complete the projects within the stipulated period.
Priority for land acquisition: The Chief Minister advised that the land acquisition needed for railway projects be given top priority. He also suggested that land acquisition be done first for the projects that are the most difficult and can be finished fast such as Belagavi Dharwad new Railway line.
For nine railway projects, a total of 15,000 acres of land are needed, of which 9000 acres have been acquired so far. 6000 acres of land must be acquired, according to officials. Belagavi Dharwad new Railway line land acquisition has also started.
Grants for railway projects should be distributed by the State Governments and the Railway Department in coordination. The project can be finished within the allotted time frame, according to the chief minister, who credited the prompt funding releases.
“Reconciliation Is Required”
Our top objective, according to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, is to quickly complete railway projects. For this, he said, there needs to be more collaboration between the state government and the railway authorities.
Both Bommai and Vaishnav reviewed the progress of Gadag-Wadi, Rayadurg-Tumkur, Ginigera- Raichur, Tumkur-Chitradurga-Davangere, Bagalkot- Kudachi, Marikuppam-Kuppam, Belagavi-Dharwad new Railway Line, and another new railway line.
MP S. Muniswamy, Deputy Chief Secretary, State Government Finance Department, and Development Commissioner I.S.N. Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister N. Manjunath Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary Infrastructure Development Department Gaurav Gupta, South Western Railway General Manager Sanjeev Kishore, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
