Belagavi Railway C&W Steps Up Amidst Track Disruptions at Braganza Ghat. Goa Express to Terminate & originate at Belagavi.
The aftermath of the landslides at Braganza Ghat continues to pose challenges for train services between Castle Rock and Caranzol. As the restoration work of the tracks progresses on a war footing, authorities have announced that it may take another day to complete the restoration and safety trials. In light of this, Indian Railways has made necessary arrangements to ensure passenger safety and convenience during this period of disruption.
In response to the ongoing restoration efforts at Braganza Ghat, the following trains will be short-terminated and originate from Belagavi Railway Station:
- Train Number 12779 Vasco-Nizammudin Goa Express (29-07-2023, 30-07-2023 till 02-08-2023): The train scheduled to travel towards Nizammudin will now originate from Belagavi instead of Vasco. As a result, the services of Train Number 12779 Goa Express between Belagavi and Vasco will be canceled on the specified dates.
- Train Number 12780 Nizammudin-Vasco Goa Express (Till 01.08.2023): This train, originating from Hazrat Nizamuddin on previous days will now be short-terminated at Belagavi. The train is expected to reach Belagavi around 2:30 A.M. As a consequence of this change, the services of Train Number 12780 Goa Express between Vasco and Belagavi will be canceled on the mentioned date.
During these unforeseen emergency circumstances, the Belagavi Carriage & Wagon Coaching Depot has risen to the occasion despite being understaffed. They have stepped forward to regulate and maintain the Goa Express for two days during its short termination and origination from Belagavi. Their dedication to ensuring smooth operations and passenger comfort in challenging times is commendable.

The authorities are working tirelessly to expedite the restoration work of tracks at Braganza Ghat between Castle Rock and Caranzol. However, the safety of passengers remains the top priority, and the decision to short terminate and originate the Goa Express from Belagavi has been taken to mitigate any potential risks.

Indian Railways appeals to all passengers to stay informed about the latest updates regarding train schedules and alternative arrangements through official railway communication channels. Travelers are also encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly to minimize any inconvenience caused by the disruptions.
The collaboration between Indian Railways, NWKRTC, and the dedicated efforts of the Belagavi Coaching Depot reaffirm the commitment to passenger safety and service even in challenging situations. The public is urged to cooperate with the authorities and railway personnel during this period, and any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
As the restoration work progresses at Braganza Ghat, Indian Railways assures the public that every effort is being made to restore normalcy to train services as soon as possible. Passenger safety and convenience will remain the utmost priority throughout the restoration process.
