Belagavi Airport’s Terminal Upgrade in the AAC Meeting Belagavi Airport
In a recent meeting (AAC Meeting Belagavi Airport) with the Airport Advisory Committee, Rajya Sabha MP Iranna Kadadi unveiled ambitious plans for the transformation of Belagavi Airport, shedding light on a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade that aims to position the airport on the global stage.
The focal point of the discussion in the AAC Meeting Belagavi Airport was the proposal to construct a cutting-edge terminal, an endeavor projected to cost an impressive Rs 357 crores. The new terminal, spanning a sprawling 16,400 square meters, is anticipated to be completed by 2026, promising to redefine the aviation experience for travelers passing through Belagavi.
The state-of-the-art facility is designed with a keen emphasis on efficiency and passenger comfort. Boasting four aero bridges and eight escalators, the terminal is engineered to handle a robust capacity of 2400 passengers concurrently, both for arrivals and departures. What sets it apart is its capability to seamlessly manage the simultaneous arrival and departure of nine aircraft, a feature that aligns with international standards.
As part of the extensive infrastructure plan, the new terminal will offer ample parking options conveniently situated in front of the terminal. This includes space for 500 cars, 200 bikes, 10 buses, and other vehicles, ensuring a hassle-free experience for travelers.
MP Iranna Kadadi, who spearheaded the presentation at the AAC Meeting Belagavi Airport, emphasized the significance of this development in bringing Belagavi Airport in line with global standards. Presently serving as a crucial gateway to major cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad with direct flights, the expansion is poised to elevate the airport’s status and revolutionize air travel for the people of Northern Karnataka.
Kadadi highlighted the strategic importance of this modernization effort, stating that it reflects a commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities for passengers. With the impending completion of the new terminal, Belagavi Airport is poised to offer an even more seamless and connected travel experience.
Joining Rajya Sabha MP Iranna Kadadi were MP Smt. Mangala Angadi, Airport Director Shri S. Tyagarajan, Advisory Committee member Shri Bharath Deshpande, and several other key figures including Shri Sanjaya Bhandari, Shri Ay. G Deyannavara, Sri Gurudev Patil, Smt. Priyanka Ajrekar, Sri Anup Kate, and various district officers in AAC Meeting Belagavi Airport.
The development is seen as a significant stride in the region’s aviation landscape, promising economic and tourism benefits while bolstering Belagavi’s position as a key player in the air transportation network.
