Air Marshal R Radhish Commends the Maiden Intake of Agniveervayu Women as They March Shoulder to Shoulder with Male Counterparts, Culminating 22 Weeks of Rigorous Training
In a historic moment for the Indian Air Force, the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the inaugural Agniveervayu Women batch, alongside the second Agniveervayu (Men) intake, was conducted with grandeur at the Airmen Training School in Belagavi on December 2, 2023. The event marked the culmination of 22 weeks of rigorous Ab-initio training for a total of 2280 Agniveervayu trainees.
Air Marshal R Radhish, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command, Indian Air Force, presided over the parade, witnessing a spectacular display of Drill and March Past by the trainees. A significant moment was etched in the history of the Indian Air Force as the first batch of 153 Agniveervayu Women marched shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts.

During the ceremony, Air Marshal R Radhish congratulated and felicitated the award winners who had excelled in various fields, praising their outstanding performance. He emphasized the importance of the training received in the face of emerging global security challenges and encouraged the Agniveervayu to utilize their combat training and military preparedness for the deliverance of military objectives.
Addressing the Agniveervayu women and men, the Air Marshal stressed the need to continue enhancing their knowledge, and skills, and conduct themselves in an exemplary manner at all times. He acknowledged the new challenges posed by the evolving global security scenario and highlighted the pivotal role the Agniveervayu would play in the fourth-largest Air Force in the world.
Expressing appreciation to the parents of the Agniveervayu, Air Marshal R Radhish acknowledged their contribution to the country. He commended them for raising men and women of honor who are now poised to be part of the elite Indian Air Force.

The induction of this batch of Agniveervayu took place on June 28, 2023, under the Agnipath scheme, and the Passing Out Parade marked the conclusion of their comprehensive training that focused not only on physical aspects but also enhanced their intellectual and moral capabilities, crucial to the ethos of an air warrior.
The ceremony was a momentous occasion for the families of the young men and women who were present to witness the impressive Passing Out Parade function, symbolizing a new era of gender integration and excellence in the Indian Air Force.
