5th and 8th Board Exams Cancelled
As of this Friday, the board exams for classes 5 and 8 (5th and 8th Board Exams) Cancelled from this academic year have been canceled by the Karnataka High Court (HC). The board exams were going to start being held this academic year, according to the ministry of education. The board exams for the fifth and eighth grades may be held starting the following year, according to the opinion of the bench led by Judge Pradeep Singh Yerur, according to IANS.
The public exams for students in classes 5 and 8 (5th and 8th Board Exams) Cancelled were challenged in a petition that Lokesh Talikatte, the president of the Registered Unaided Private Schools Management Association (RUPSA), had submitted to the High Court. In an order dated December 12, 2022, he contested the new evaluation system that would be in place for the academic year 2022–23.
A stay of the order was requested in the petition, which was brought before a single bench. After that, the appeal was presented to the division bench. Public exams should not be held, according to the division bench led by Chief Justice P.B. Varale and Justice Ashok S. Kinagi. The single bench order was issued in accordance with the division bench’s instructions.
The fifth and eighth standard board exams (5th and 8th Board Exams) have encountered significant opposition. Parents had questioned why these classes needed board exams while the CBSE does not require them. The education department is allegedly supporting the tuition mafia. The idea of holding board exams for lower grades was previously abandoned when S. Suresh Kumar served as the Minister of Education due to vehement parental opposition.
