Mr. Kashinath Iragara, a dedicated member of the Traffic (U) Station, demonstrated exceptional valor and quick thinking as he fearlessly jumped into the lake to rescue the drowning woman, saving her life without a moment’s hesitation.
The incident occurred near Fort Circle, where Mr. Kashinath Iragara, Badge No. 1769, was stationed on duty. As fate would have it, he spotted the woman in distress struggling in the waters of Kotkere Lake. Without wasting a second, Mr. Iragara dived into the lake, disregarding his own safety, and swam towards the drowning mother.
With sheer determination and an unwavering commitment to his duty as a law enforcement officer, Mr. Iragara managed to reach the struggling woman swiftly. He demonstrated exceptional swimming skills and a strong resolve to carry out a successful rescue operation. With immense strength, he pulled the woman to safety and ensured she received the necessary medical attention promptly.

Hon’ble Commissioner of Police, Shri SN Siddaramappa, recognizing the exemplary display of time consciousness and bravery exhibited by Mr. Iragara, announced a cash reward as a token of appreciation. Today, a ceremony was held at the Belgaum City Police Headquarters, where Mr. Iragara was warmly welcomed and honored by the Commissioner. He was presented with a cash prize as a recognition of his laudable work and selfless dedication to his duty.
Addressing the media during the ceremony, Hon’ble Commissioner Siddaramappa praised Mr. Iragara’s outstanding commitment to serving the community and protecting lives.
