IMA Belagavi organizes BLS training for Belagavi City Police
IMA Belagavi: Basic Life Support (BLS) training was organized by the Indian Medical Association, Belagavi branch at the IMA, Hall on December 15, 2022, in an effort to save the life of a victim in the event of poisoning, burns, cardiac arrest, or any other emergency conditions.
The participating police officers received practical training, adequate exposure to the handling of medical emergencies, and the necessary tools to manage crises effectively and save the lives of those in need.

The doctors from IMA Belagavi, KLE Centenary Charitable Hospital at Yellur Road, Belagavi, gave the police officers a demonstration and training. The handling of anyone experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or an obstruction of the airway was thoroughly explained to the participants. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge, abilities, and finer points of technique were demonstrated, and subsequently, Police personnel actively performed CPR drills. At Suvarna Vidhan Soudha, more than 64 police officers who attended the training sessions have been assigned to the upcoming assembly sessions.
Dr. Santosh Karmasi and Dr. Basavraj Kudsomannavar from KLE CC Hospital, Yellur Road, provided basic life support demonstrations and hands-on instruction. Dr. Neha Kulkarni gave additional CPR training. Dr. Ujwala Halgekar, a senior physician, provided a thorough explanation of the management of poisoning and snake bites. Dr. Darshan Rajput discussed burn case management. The Metugd Hospital’s Dr. Heman Koujalgi highlighted the finer points of caring for victims of traffic accidents.

The attendees were welcomed by IMA Belagavi Secretary Dr. Hemant Koujalgi and Chief Guest Dr. Swapna Mahajan after Dr. Rajashree Anigol introduced them. The training was attended by 64Â police officers as well as Shri. Ravindra Gadadi, IPS, DCP (Law & Order), and Shri. N.V. Baramani, ACP-Market Sub Division, Belagavi City. After the training, Ravindra Gadadi, an IPS, complimented the medical staff at KLE Hospital and the IMA in general for organizing a very beneficial training session for police personnel. Gadadi believed that it would fulfill our needs while on emergency duty.
Doctors. Anigol, Namrata Kutre, Satish Bagewadi, Smita Koujalgi, and Milind Halgekar received a list of emergency supplies that should be stored in the first aid kit from Basavaraj Bijjargi, the IMA Belagavi treasurer. The ceremony was organized by Shri. Ninganagouda Patil, Police Inspector, CCB, Belagavi city. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Hemant Koujalgi.
