Railway Board Approves Diversions and Timetable Adjustments for Key Karnataka Train Routes including Dadar Express
In a significant move aimed at reducing congestion and enhancing operational efficiency, the Railway Board has approved the diversion of several trains passing through Yeshwantpur Junction in Karnataka. This decision comes as a response to the persistent congestion issues faced by the junction. Effective from specific dates in June 2024

the following trains will now bypass Yeshwantpur Junction:
- 11021/11022 Dadar Central – Tirunalvelly – Dadar Central Chalukya Express: These trains will now halt at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, Baypanhalli, and Banaswadi stations instead of Yeshwantpur Junction. The change will be implemented on June 25, 2024, and June 27, 2024, respectively.
- 11005/11006 Dadar Puducherry Dadar Express: Similarly, these trains will also be diverted to stop at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, Baypanhalli, Whitefield, and Banaswadi stations, starting from June 24, 2024, and June 25, 2024, respectively.
These alterations in routes are particularly significant for passengers traveling to and from Belagavi, as these trains serve as vital connections for the region.
Timings Changed for 17317 Belagavi Dadar Express
Moreover, in a separate development concerning train timings, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced revisions for Train No. 17317 SSS Hubli-Belagavi-Dadar Express. Effective from February 29, 2024, adjustments in timings have been made between SSS Hubballi and Kudachi stations. The purpose behind these changes is to enhance operational efficiency along the route.
Notably, as part of the adjustments, the Bengaluru Hubli Jan Shatabdi will now be received at Platform 2 of UBL Station. To accommodate this change, the departure timing of Train No. 17317 UBL-Belagavi-Dadar Express has been pushed to 3:40 PM from the existing 3:00 PM.
The revised schedule for Train No. 17317 UBL-Belagavi-Dadar Express is as follows:
- Departure from SSS Hubli: 15:40 hrs (previously 15:00 hrs)
- Arrival at Londa: 17:18/17:20 hrs (previously 16:43/16:45 hrs)
- Arrival at Belagavi: 18:15/18:20 hrs (previously 17:40/17:45 hrs)
It’s important to note that there will be no changes in timings between Miraj and Dadar for this train.
These changes in routes and timings signify the railways’ commitment to ensuring smoother and more efficient operations while catering to the needs of passengers traveling through Karnataka.
