In a significant development, the Ministry of Railways has granted approval for the extension of four Vande Bharat Express services, connecting key cities across the country. Among the approved extensions, the spotlight shines brightly on Belagavi(BGM SBC Vande Bharat Express), which is set to be included in the prestigious Vande Bharat Express network.

The South Western Railway’s Letter No. T-454/Vande Bharat/22-23(179) dated 02.11.2023, highlighting the extension of the 20661/62 KSR Bengaluru-Dharwar Vande Bharat Express up to Belagavi, has been met with enthusiasm and anticipation from the residents of Belagavi which will be now known as BGM SBC Vande Bharat Express.

This momentous decision comes as a result of persistent efforts from various quarters, with Shri Iranna Kadadi, in collaboration with the Belagavi Core Development Group, presenting a compelling case for the extension to Railway Board CEO Ms. Jayaverma Sinha. The culmination of these efforts has now paved the way for Belagavi to join the league of cities served by the state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express (
