Trade and industry demands for the development of the Belagavi District:
Manufacturing Industries: To attract PSUs, large-scale businesses, and multinational companies to Belagavi, the manufacturing industry is developing a new industrial estate of over 2000 acres with five-star infrastructure. This industrial estate is modeled after MIDC Maharashtra.
Over 500 acres of New Foundry Park, including 100 acres designated for the hydraulics and manufacturing industries
Affordable flattened manufacturing complexes for startups, microbusinesses, and small businesses.
As a Special Case for the Belagavi District, support and facilitation of 10- to 50-acre private industrial estates is needed.
With a buffer zone to prevent encroachment from residential and commercial areas, there is a clear delineation between and separation of the industrial zones.
Connectivity: The Ring Road’s road planning took industrial estates into consideration to allow for simple transit of goods to the benefit of exporters and manufacturers.
Chorla Ghat is being widened and a new national highway is being built to connect Belagavi and Goa. This needs to be brought up with NHAI.
A New Direct Rail line that connects Kolhapur, Belagavi, and Hubballi.
Modernization of the airport infrastructure with increased capacity.
Direct flights to Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad need to become more frequent. Flights to Varanasi, North east as well.
Rail: Hurriedly construct the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Sambra, which has been delayed since 2019 and will aid in exporters’ customs clearances.
Air: To hasten the construction of the airport’s air cargo terminal at Belagavi to make exports easier.
ESIC Hospital: Construction of a new ESIC hospital in the Udyambag/Machhe Industrial region will begin immediately, as promised during the most recent Winter session held in Belagavi in December 2021.
