A delegation of MPs, MLAs, and entrepreneurs of the Belagavi district discussed various issues related to the development of the district.
Today in Bengaluru, a group led by MLA Abhay Patil and MP Iranna Kadadi, representatives of the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce, and other business organizations met with Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai.
According to insiders, the conference was highly successful.

The first thing he clarified was that Belagavi was a dedicated “startup park,” one of the “high-tech” cities and that the media had overlooked it while covering other stories, the CM stated.
The CM pledged to establish a Foundry & Hydraulics Industrial Estate/Park on 500 acres and to attract a significant Automobile-based Industry to Belagavi.
Before the assembly session, the chief minister promised to visit Belagavi, meet with all of the association’s leaders, and consider their concerns. In order to create a 100-bed ESIC hospital in the Belagavi district, the CM stated that he will hold discussions with the national govt. On the Mumbai-Chennai corridor, a new industrial complex will also be built in the Belagavi district. The Chief Minister counseled the businessmen to seize this opportunity. To support the industrial growth in this region, the Central Railway Minister has been asked to prioritize the Belagavi-Kittur-Dharwad Railway Project as one of the top 5 projects. He declared that this project would be carried out by the government with top priority.

Trade and industry demands for the development of the Belagavi District:
Manufacturing Industries: To attract PSUs, large-scale businesses, and multinational companies to Belagavi, the manufacturing industry is developing a new industrial estate of over 2000 acres with five-star infrastructure. This industrial estate is modeled after MIDC Maharashtra.
Over 500 acres of New Foundry Park, including 100 acres designated for the hydraulics and manufacturing industries
Affordable flattened manufacturing complexes for startups, microbusinesses, and small businesses.
As a Special Case for the Belagavi District, support and facilitation of 10- to 50-acre private industrial estates is needed.
With a buffer zone to prevent encroachment from residential and commercial areas, there is a clear delineation between and separation of the industrial zones.
Connectivity: The Ring Road’s road planning took industrial estates into consideration to allow for simple transit of goods to the benefit of exporters and manufacturers.
Chorla Ghat is being widened and a new national highway is being built to connect Belagavi and Goa. This needs to be brought up with NHAI.
A New Direct Rail line that connects Kolhapur, Belagavi, and Hubballi.
Modernization of the airport infrastructure with increased capacity.
Direct flights to Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad need to become more frequent. Flights to Varanasi, North east as well.
Logistics
Rail: Hurriedly construct the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Sambra, which has been delayed since 2019 and will aid in exporters’ customs clearances.
Air: To hasten the construction of the airport’s air cargo terminal at Belagavi to make exports easier.
Amenities
ESIC Hospital: Construction of a new ESIC hospital in the Udyambag/Machhe Industrial region will begin immediately, as promised during the most recent Winter session held in Belagavi in December 2021.
Separate feeder planning for existing and future industrial estates is done using ECOMS.
Financing: To Offer New Entrepreneurs A 50% Subsidy And To Upgrade Existing Units.
