Beginning on December 30, the Airmen Training School (ATS-Belagavi), the only training facility in the nation, will begin the induction process for the initial group of Agniveer Vayu applicants under the ambitious Agnipath program of the national government.

More than 7.5 lakh applications were submitted to the Indian Air Force for the Agniveer Vayu positions; 2,850 were chosen, and they will now spend 22 weeks at ATS Belagavi undergoing rigorous military and stream-based training. 150 Agniveer Vayu (non-combatant) aspirants also begin their training at the same time and for a total of 24 months.
Under the direction of the Central Airmen Selection Board, Airmen Selection Centers geographically located in various parts of the nation have chosen all of the candidates to be inducted (CASB).
For the induction procedure, Agniveer Vayu aspirants will be enrolled at ATS-Belagavi from December 25 to December 29. 800 trainees from the first batch came on Sunday, and the remaining trainees will do so over the next four days. At the Belagavi railway station, four reception desks have been set up to ensure the efficient flow of applicants arriving for enrollment.

Agniveer candidates will receive general service knowledge in addition to trade-related training for streams like aircraft, radar, weapons, etc., based on their ability, as their service is for four years. Candidates just learn general service knowledge during general training, but Agnivir Vayu candidates will put more training faculty under stress.
Group captain Arun Mittal, head instructor (training), ATS Belagavi, claims that the training program for applicants for Agniveer Vayu has been modified. The six-month training program will also include physical and mental training for the candidates. They will develop from undeveloped young guys into tech-savvy, combat-ready soldiers. The ATS’s Commanding Officer Air commodore, S Shridhar, claimed that they have world-class facilities for training inductees. These have a drill area, a gym, and a swimming pool in addition to having room for more than 3,500 people at once.
