“Indian Air Force’s 1st Batch Agniveervayu Training Program Sets the Stage for Future Airmen”
A remarkable valedictory function was held at the Airmen Training School (ATS) in Belagavi to celebrate the successful completion of training for the 1st Batch Agniveervayu. The event, organized under the Agnipath scheme, marked the culmination of 22 weeks of ab-initio training for 2,675 Agniveervayu trainees inducted into the Indian Air Force on December 30, 2022.
Air Marshal R Radhish, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command, Indian Air Force, presided over the function, which showcased an array of impressive displays. The Agniveervayu trainees demonstrated their mastery of drill exercises, tent pitching, and various training outcomes, leaving the audience in awe.

The Air Marshal took the opportunity to congratulate the Agniveervayu trainees on their exceptional performance and personally felicitated the award winners for their outstanding achievements. He clarified to Agniveervayu that they should always strive to improve their technical know-how, aptitude, and behavior.
Air Marshal Radhish added, “The government of India launched the Agnipatha Yojana in 2022, which made me happy for the ambitious young Agniveeravayu. Approximately 7 lakh young people applied to join the Indian Air Force. However, out of the 3,200 people we chose, 2,860 came to the training. Only 2,675 people have finished the program. Firefighters are required to accomplish the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat,” he further stated.

The valedictory function was attended by several esteemed officers from the Air Force Training School, who shared their appreciation for the hard work and determination exhibited by the Agniveervayu trainees throughout their training period.
