In a splendid ceremony held at Platform No.1 of the Belagavi Railway Station, the 17302 Belagavi Mysuru Express was flagged off, marking a significant moment in the region’s transportation history. The extension of the Dharwad-Mysuru Express to Belagavi was initiated by Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Shri Iranna Kadadi of the Belagavi Constituency, breathing new life into the local railway connectivity. The train was flagged off by Lok Sabha MP Smt. Mangal Suresh Angadi.

The grandeur of the flagging-off event was nothing short of remarkable, as members of the Belagavi Core came together to celebrate this milestone. The locomotive was adorned with garlands, the coaches were beautifully decorated with roses, and informative banners were affixed to both the coaches and the luggage van. The festivities didn’t stop there, as members distributed the famous sweet delicacy from Mysore, Mysuru Pak, to the crew of the train, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff, and eager passengers.

Belagavi Railway Station Comes Alive with Celebration After 4-Year Gap
The driving force behind this initiative was Shri Iranna Kadadi, a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, who played a pivotal role in bringing this much-anticipated train service to Belagavi. Unfortunately, due to his prior commitments, he was unable to be present at the grand inauguration ceremony.
The inaugural run of the Belagavi-Mysuru Express witnessed an enthusiastic response from the community, with nearly 120 passengers embarking on their journey from Belagavi to Mysuru. This turnout was particularly impressive, considering it was a weekday, showcasing the demand and excitement for improved railway connectivity in the region.
The extension of the Dharwad-Mysuru Express to Belagavi is expected to not only facilitate travel for residents but also boost tourism and trade in the region. Passengers can now enjoy a seamless and comfortable rail journey between these two prominent cities, further strengthening the railway network in Karnataka.
