Yaana Public Bicycle Sharing in Belagavi program was launched today.
The proposal envisioned by Smart City Limited under Public Private Partnership (PPP) to launch such a service in Belagavi.
On Saturday, December 17th, Belagavi North MLA Abhay Patil officially opened the “Public bicycle, e-bicycle & e-bike Sharing” (PBS) system at the Rani Chennamma Circle as a part of the smart city project.
All docking stations accept three different kinds of vehicles: bicycles, electric bikes, and electric bicycles. These vehicles all have GPS capabilities.
With the PBS system, users can rent a bike from a specific automatic docking station and return it to another docking station close to their destination.
The Yaana Public Bicycle Sharing in Belagavi will be implemented with the aim of improving the city’s livability for its citizens and its appeal to tourists. This will reduce the use of private motor vehicles, make city streets more pedestrian and environmentally friendly, and provide last-mile connectivity for users of public transportation.
In order to run the Yaana Public Bicycle Sharing in Belagavi, the ambitious Public Bicycle Sharing Company Yaana Bikes has installed docking stations at 20 different spots throughout the city. A total of 100 Yaana electric bikes, 100 Yaana bicycles, and 100 Yaana bicycles have been added by the company, which has deployed brand-new cars.
A few Yaana bikes were launched Yesterday by MLA Belagavi South Abhay Patil at Shahpur, Belagavi.

Under the Yaana Public Bicycle Sharing in Belagavi, bicycles can be rented for a small cost (mentioned below) from docking stations placed throughout the City. But before they can borrow a bike from the docking station, riders must become members by paying a charge that also includes a refundable deposit and obtaining a smart card by scanning it.
