Raifans Activists and passengers have been continuously demanding that Belagavi-Pune Intercity Express should be started. But due to the indifference between the zones of railways, the passengers are suffering. If the intercity express starts, it will be possible to travel from Belagavi to Pune in just seven to eight hours.
New trains are being launched continuously from the Hubli division. But the Pune Divison is giving the reason that there are no passengers in the section and the doubling, electrification, and NI work is going on which hampers the operations and debars Railways to start new Trains.
Passengers are demanding the start of the Belagavi to Pune Intercity Express to connect Karnataka and Maharashtra quickly.

Belagavi to Pune Intercity Express was given to the Pune Division at that time.
The then Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi also took the initiative to start it. He had also announced the same. But Pune Divisio stated if this train starts, there is no railway track available at the station to park the train at Belagavi, due to the high number of trains on the Londa-Pune railway line, traffic will be hampered.
Suresh Angadi had consistently pursued this cause. But after his demise, the proposal of this intercity express is kept under wraps. At that time, due to the indifference of the railway’s zones, this train, which is convenient for passengers, has not been able to run to date.
Now that the Pitline, maintenance workshop, and Coaching Depot’s construction has been completed at Belagavi, railways & Pune Division can think of quickly starting this Train. If this train leaves Belagavi at 5 AM it can reach Pune by 12 PM. On the return journey, if the train left Pune at 5 or 6 PM, it could reach Belagavi by 11 or 12 PM. There is a frequent demand from passengers that this train should be started immediately as the intercity express is convenient for passengers from the border areas including Miraj, Karad, and Satara.
