Spicejet exits Belagavi Airport to return in February 2023
Spicejet, Belagavi Airport:
From December 12, low-cost airline SpiceJet will cease operations from Belagavi Airport.
Spicejet has been running daily flights between Delhi and Belgaum with a very high load factor. The fact that Belagavi Airport is losing connections to important locations is cause for concern.
But there is a ray of hope as Airport Director Shri Rajesh Maurya has informed via tweet that Belagavi Delhi by Spicejet will be back by February 2023.
He said, “As per the information received from @flyspicejet, the Delhi sector is temporarily canceled till February 2023 from 12th December 2022 due to some operational reasons.”

State officials bemoaned the decision’s negative impact on the Industrial connections and connectivity to the National Capital. A spokeswoman for the low-cost carrier claimed that operating limitations were caused by bottlenecks of the crew shortage and the DGCA’s 50% restriction.
Spicejet recently discontinued service between Belagavi and Mumbai and Hyderabad. The news that the airline has halted reservations for the Delhi-Belagavi sector is rather distressing for the local businesses and tourists. As a result, those who want to go to Delhi will now need to take multiple connecting flights and travel for more than five hours.
According to Spicejet, the cancellation is just temporary and is being made for operational needs.
The passengers in this area are now somewhat relieved as a result of this choice.
According to Airport Director Rajesh Maurya, “We are anticipating that services would return early next year as the weather is normally good and it is a favorable festive season.”
