New NWKRTC Special Bus Service Deployed for Tirupati-Kolhapur Haripriya Express Passengers Stranded Due to Railway Doubling Works at Shedbal
Passengers of the Tirupati Kolhapur Haripriya Express faced a major inconvenience due to the ongoing railway doubling works at Shedbal. The train was short-terminated at Belagavi until the 13th of April, causing many passengers to be stranded without a mode of transportation to their final destination. This resulted in many passengers being unable to visit the famous Mahalaxmi Temple at Kolhapur, which is a customary visit for devotees of the Tirupati Temple.
However, the Belagavi Core Development Group stepped forward to request the NWKRTC to deploy buses for Kolhapur(NWKRTC Special Bus Service). Recognizing the inconvenience caused to passengers, the corporation deployed 8 buses from Belagavi Railway Station to Kolhapur. The response from the passengers of the Haripriya Express has been overwhelmingly positive, with many using this new bus facility.

In response to the popularity of this service, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) also deployed 2 buses for Kolhapur. Private taxi services, such as Force Toofan, have also started their services for Miraj Sangli. The deployment of these buses has provided a significant revenue boost to the corporations, with all the (NWKRTC Special Bus Service) buses running at full capacity.

The NWKRTC is charging a fixed fare of ₹200/- for the journey from Belagavi Station to Kolhapur, while the MSRTC is charging ₹185/- for the same journey (NWKRTC Special Bus Service). Passengers have been grateful for the swift response from the corporations, and many have praised their efforts in providing a much-needed mode of transportation.
It is customary for devotees of the Tirupati Temple to visit the Mahalaxmi Temple in Kolhapur after their visit to Tirupati. This is because visiting the Balaji Temple is considered incomplete without paying a visit to his consort Shri Laxmi at Kolhapur. Even today, every year, a silk saree is sent by the Tirumala Tirupati Devsthana to the Mahalaxmi Temple as a sign of devotion.
The Belagavi Core Development Group has also requested the deployment of city buses for the 20653 KSR Bengaluru Belagavi Superfast Express. Many passengers have also requested regular service between Belagavi Railway Station and Pune Railway Station via Pune Swargate Bus Station.
The deployment of these NWKRTC Special Bus Service has provided much-needed relief to the passengers of the Haripriya Express, who were stranded due to the ongoing railway doubling works. The efforts of the corporations in quickly deploying these services have been appreciated by many, and it is hoped that such services will continue to be provided in the future.
The popularity of these NWKRTC Special Bus Services has also highlighted the need for better connectivity between different cities in the region. Deploying regular bus services between different cities could provide a much-needed boost to the local economy and improve the quality of life for the residents.
