Paving the Way for Progress: NHAI Invites Bids for ₹ 1,699.57 Crore Karnataka Road NH748A Belgaum Raichur Development Project
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced two separate tenders for the construction of four lanes with paved shoulders in the Belagavi-Hungund-Raichur section of NH748A in Karnataka. The total value of the tender job work is estimated at Rs 1,699.57 crore, marking a significant investment in the infrastructure development of the region.
The Government of India has entrusted the NHAI with the development, maintenance, and management of the Belagavi-Hungund-Raichur stretch, covering approximately 46.2 kilometers. The project is divided into two packages: Package-3, covering the section from Design Ch. 89.900 to Design Ch. 136.100, and Package-4, spanning from KM 136.100 to KM 182.300. Both packages fall under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) of the NH(O) initiative.
The NHAI aims to carry out the four-laning project on a design, build, operate, and transfer (DBOT) annuity basis, seeking private entities to undertake the responsibility. The bidding process is open to eligible bidders, who have time until 30th January 2024 for Package-3 and 2nd February 2024 for Package-4 to submit their proposals.

The complete bid document, outlining the project details and requirements, is available for viewing and download on the e-procurement portal of NHAI (http://etenders.gov.in). Interested bidders are urged to access the portal between 15th December 2023 and 1st February 2024 (Package-3) or between 11th December 2023 and 29th January 2024 (Package-4). All bids must be submitted online at http://etenders.gov.in within the validity of registration with the NHAI e-Tendering Portal, managed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
The technical submissions of the bids received online will be opened on 2nd February 2024 for Package-4 and 30th January 2024 for Package-3, both at 11:30 AM IST. This marks a crucial step in the selection process as the NHAI seeks to identify a private entity capable of undertaking the project and ensuring its successful completion.
