Belagavi Railway Station is now fully Electrified under the New government and within 2 years of the beginning of the Project.

Belagavi and North Karnataka celebrated a historical day on 29th March 2023 as the Belagavi Railway Station, which was constructed in 1881, was completely electrified. The Londa to Belagavi section, part of the Pune-Bengaluru Mainline, is now a Fully Electrified Double Line (FEDL). The inspection for the same was conducted by Shri Jaipal Singh, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, who declared the line energized and FEDL after a thorough inspection. The inspection was done using Krishnarajpuram’s fancy numbered 41411 WAG-9H Locomotive.

Tata Projects were the contractor for this section’s electrification and they completed it way ahead of the deadline. The current supply to the line is being done by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.
