Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Hari Kumar, visits Kamal Basadi in Belagavi
Belagavi: The 25th and current Chief of the Naval Staff of India, Admiral Radhakrishnan Hari Kumar PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, paid a visit to the historic monument Kamal Basadi in Belagavi yesterday. The Secretary of Bharatesh Education Trust, Co-convener of INTACH Belagavi Chapter, and Secretary of Kamal Basadi Puja Committee, Vinod Doddanavar, accompanied the Admiral and showed him around the monument.
During his visit, Admiral Hari Kumar was briefed about the religious, architectural, and historical significance of Kamal Basadi. The monument is a Jain temple that dates back to the 12th century and is renowned for its intricate carvings and exquisite architecture. It is one of the most significant Jain monuments in the region and attracts a large number of tourists every year.

Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee, Commandant, MARATHA Light Infantry Regimental Centre, and Naval staff were also present during the visit. The group was welcomed by Mahaveer Upadhye, Mahaveer Hardi, Rajat Hardi, Abhinandan Kocheri, and Hirachand Kalmani.
Admiral Hari Kumar expressed his admiration for the beauty and cultural significance of Kamal Basadi. He noted that it was important to preserve such monuments to showcase the rich cultural heritage of India. The Admiral also praised the efforts of the local community in maintaining the temple and promoting tourism in the area.
