Swachh Survekshan 2022 Results are out and Belagavi Corporation scores 6th Rank in State & 171 in National Rankings ( 1-10L) population category.
whereas Cantonment Board Belgaum bags the No. 1 position in state rankings and 44th in national rankings out of 80 cantonment boards.
The cleanliness drive (Swachh Bharat Mission) that started 8 years ago as a govt initiative is a mass movement today. The event was presided over by President Smt. Draupadi Murmu.
The Belagavi City & Corporation performed well in Segregated Door-to-Door collection of waste, Cleanliness of Market Area, Residential Areas & Water Bodies. Survekshan also praised Daily Sweeping in Residential Areas along with No dumps in Open places.
Whereas it performed poorly in Cleanliness & Maintenance of Public Toilets, Drains & Absentee of Citizens Grievances Redressal.

Though Survekshan & citizens gave concerned over the Open Garbage dumps, non-maintained and uncleaned public toilets along with Poor Citizen Grievances Redressal.
