Tuesday saw the death of Minister Umesh Katti following a cardiac arrest. His age was 61.
Umesh Katti, the Karnataka government’s minister of food, civil supplies, consumer affairs, and forest, passed away on Tuesday night after experiencing a severe cardiac arrest.
The minister reportedly experienced a cardiac arrest on Tuesday night at around 10 o’clock while at his Dollars Colony residence. He was taken urgently to MS Ramaiah hospital. He apparently passed away while receiving treatment in the ICU.
Umesh Vishwanath Katti served as the Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Forest of Karnataka beginning on 4 August 2021. He was an activist for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly for six terms from Hukkeri (Belagavi) Constituency.
